Privacy policy
Last updated: 27 October 2026
The short version. Quinn & Bryn has no ads, no tracking, no analytics and no accounts or sign-in. The game itself collects nothing about you or your child, and we never sell or share data. Only the photobooth uses the camera, and photos stay on your device. The only information that leaves the device is what is needed for a purchase.
Who we are
Quinn & Bryn is a game for children aged 2 to 5, made by Stephen Lloyd, an independent developer in the United Kingdom. In this policy, “we” and “us” means Stephen Lloyd. You can reach us at hello@quinnandbryn.com.
This policy covers the Quinn & Bryn app on iPhone, iPad and Android, and this website.
What the game keeps on your device
- Progress: which games and countries have been played, the picture book and the stamps.
- Settings: Easy or Challenging, music, camera on or off, and the play timer.
- Photos: one photobooth photo per country, and the picture book’s snapshots of finished games (these show the game screen only).
- A note that you bought the full game, so it stays unlocked when you’re offline.
All of this stays inside the app on your device, and the app never sends it to us or anyone else. On iPhone and iPad, your own device backup (such as iCloud Backup) may include it, as it does for any app.
The camera and photos
- Only the photobooth uses the camera, and only the front camera. The photobooth opens after your child finishes all the games in a country.
- The camera stays off until a grown-up turns it on: tap the grown-up button in the photobooth and answer the grown-ups check, and only then does your device ask for permission to use the camera.
- If the camera is off or not allowed, the photo shows Quinn & Bryn on their own.
- No video or sound is recorded. The live picture shows only while the photobooth is open, and a photo is saved only when the photobooth button is pressed. A new photo replaces that country’s old one.
- Photos are saved only inside the app on your device. The app never uploads or shares them, and we never see them.
- You can switch the camera off at any time in For grown-ups > Photos.
Buying the full game
Payments are made through Google Play or the App Store, under their own terms and privacy policies. We never see your card details, and the app never asks for your name or email.
We use RevenueCat to check and restore purchases. RevenueCat receives:
- the purchase details (what was bought, when, and the store’s receipt for it);
- a random ID made by the app, which is not your name or email;
- basic technical details such as the device type, app version and IP address.
RevenueCat handles this on our behalf, under its own privacy policy, only so that the purchase works and can be restored. The app doesn’t send RevenueCat anything else: no advertising IDs, no attribution and no analytics.
Under UK and EU data protection law, we are responsible for this purchase information, and we use it because it is needed to provide what you bought. We keep the purchase record for as long as it is needed to let you restore your purchase, or until you ask us to delete it.
Internet
The game plays offline. It only goes online for the purchase: to check, buy or restore it with Google Play or the App Store and RevenueCat. Nothing else is sent.
Children’s privacy
- Quinn & Bryn is made for children aged 2 to 5, and we designed it to collect as little as possible.
- The app doesn’t ask for, or collect, a child’s name, contact details, location, photos or voice, and there is nothing a child can type or share.
- There is no chat, no sharing, no ads, no links out of the app and no tracking across other apps or websites.
- Buying, the camera setting, the play timer and deleting photos all sit behind the grown-ups check, a sum a grown-up answers.
- We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you think we hold any information about your child, email us and we’ll delete it.
Deleting your data
- Photobooth photos: For grown-ups > Photos > Delete photobooth photos.
- Everything on the device (progress, settings and all photos): uninstall the app. On Android you can also clear its storage in Settings > Apps > Quinn & Bryn > Storage.
- The purchase record held by RevenueCat: email hello@quinnandbryn.com, saying which store you bought from and roughly when, and we’ll find and delete it. Apple and Google keep their own records of your purchase under their policies.
A purchase stays with your Google Play or Apple account, so Restore brings it back after a reinstall.
Your rights
You can ask us what information we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email hello@quinnandbryn.com and we’ll reply within one month. If you’re in the UK and unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office; elsewhere, to your local data protection authority.
This website
quinnandbryn.com has no adverts, no analytics and no tracking, and it doesn’t ask for any personal information. Photos you “take” on the site exist only in your browser tab and disappear when you close it. Like any website, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP addresses) to run and protect the site, and its security service may set a short-lived, strictly necessary cookie to block bots.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the privacy page in the app, and change the date at the top.
